Whew… this week has been a ride, y’all. Between big wins, lessons, and a whole lot of reflection, I’ve been balancing life, business, and boundaries. I’m realizing that every setback really is a setup for something new.
Here’s what’s been going on:

Big news first. I got approved for Audible! 🖤
My books are now available on Amazon, Alexa, and Audible.
That means you can now listen to Soul Tied and The Bracelet anywhere! In the car, cooking, or even dodging red flags 😅.
This was one of my quiet goals. Now it’s real, and it reminds me that sometimes your goals don’t need to be shared, and you don’t always need a second opinion. You just need consistency and patience.
New to Audible? No worries! They’ve got a 30-day free trial so you can start listening today, free of charge.
Stepping Outside the Box
This week also brought something unexpected: my first voice-over audition.
I was nervous as hell at first. I’m a total beginner, never been coached, and I had the jitters. But once I leaned in, I realized how fun it was. I laughed at myself, I stumbled, and then I kept going. That experience showed me that sometimes growth means being willing to sound silly, try new things, and just let yourself enjoy the process.

Even if this first one doesn’t lead to a hire, I’m grateful for the experience. It cracked open another creative lane for me. One I didn’t even know I’d enjoy.
Protecting My Peace

I also got clarity on a so-called “friend.” I told him I’d be busy this week, getting some things in order. I didn’t say with what, but I made sure he understood that I was locking in and focusing on my grind.
Tell me why he still called trying to sob story me into going out.
Then, when I rushed him off the phone, he hits me with:
“Oh, I guess you’re too busy for me today.”
Sir… duhh. That’s what “I’ll be busy all this week, getting things in order…,” means 😅.
Sometimes, people aren’t mad because you’re “too busy.” They’re mad because you’re too busy for THEM. But this season, my time, my energy, and my peace are non-negotiable.
Securing the Bag
I recently made a post called “The Struggle of Job Searching: Trying to Stay Optimistic.”
I am here to tell you that after three months of stressing over applications and those horrid background checks, I finally got a job. 🙌🏽

Relief is an understatement. It’s not just about a paycheck. It’s about stability, about being able to stack, invest, and remembering no matter what, YOU DESERVE TO BE SECURE.
Bankruptcy Saved My Life! Let’s Be Real.

Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room. bankruptcy. There’s a lot of gossip, a lot of shame, and a lot of people who will whisper when they hear that word. But let me say this clearly:
Bankruptcy saved my life!
It gave me room to breathe when life felt impossible. It allowed me to start over instead of drowning in debt that kept me stuck. And guess what? It doesn’t make me a failure. It makes me a survivor. It makes me smart enough to choose a fresh start over carrying dead weight.
At the time, I was on the edge of almost getting evicted after my job lost their government contract. Little did I know, there’s something called an automatic stay. I found out later that filing bankruptcy actually protected me from eviction. That moment showed me that everything really does happen for a reason, and filing was the right choice. Thank God for that protection.
The truth is that bankruptcy isn’t shameful. It’s a tool. It’s protection. Like a reset button. And sometimes that’s exactly what you need to rebuild with intention.
So, cheers to all the NEW SHT! New chapters, new lessons, new blessings, and new beginnings. 🥂
Forever grateful.
This week taught me that growth isn’t about perfection. It’s about being brave enough to:
- Celebrate the wins you prayed for.
- Protect your peace at all costs.
- Try new lanes, even when you’re scared!
- Choose resets without shame. Doesn’t have to be bankruptcy, but pick something, and go for it!
Every single step. The good, the messy, and the misunderstood, is part of becoming the version of me I’ve been dreaming of.
I hope this helps! XOXO
